Avatar movie, fear and the human propensity for war
I really enjoyed watching the Avatar movie in 3D. I’m sure I’ll go back to see it again soon.
I’ve seen some threads online where people are becoming depressed after seeing the movie because the Pandora world is so attractive and the thought of living in our war-crazed world is a downer.
I know it’s a movie and a fantasy but like the Star Wars movies, I think it’s tapping into some mythic archetypes.
Humanity does seem to have a propensity to fight and make war. A lot of it is resources, not enough of things, like food, fuel, water, minerals. When people are afraid, they go into either fight or flight. Fight seems to be the usual first choice.
